Dressman Ebiware, a youth leader from Bayelsa State, has urged the Nigeria Police and state authorities to arrest Bodmas Kemepadei, his associates and others over the fatal assault of Patrick Peresuodei of Amassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Ebiware says Peresuodei was brutally beaten by Kemepadei and others, suffering broken legs, injuries to his spine and neck, and additional bodily trauma that led to his death. According to the youth leader, social-media footage places Kemepadei within Ogulagha Kingdom, in the company of Government Ekpomupolo (widely known as Tompolo). Ebiware says Kemepadei was last seen with Tompolo in Ogulagha, Burutu Local Government Area, in a Facebook Live video.
Ebiware demanded that Bayelsa state government and security agencies order Tompolo to hand Kemepadei over to police for a proper investigation. He warned that if Tompolo refuses, authorities should proceed to arrest him as well.
The youth leader further accused Kemepadei of prior criminality, alleging that he kidnapped a man identified as Karowei Bala and delivered him to Tompolo; Bala is reportedly still missing. Ebiware named Prince Miebi as having allegedly scouted Bala’s whereabouts to facilitate the abduction, and identified an individual called Ebi John as an associate who, he says, has used hotel and social-media platforms to undermine Bala’s family’s pursuit of justice. He also described other unnamed men as Kemepadei’s followers who participate in criminal acts.
The youth leader appealed to government authorities to apprehend Kemepadei and his alleged collaborators to halt what he described as a reign of violence and lawlessness in the region.
Requests for comment sent to representatives of Tompolo, Kemepadei, and the named associates, as well as to Bayelsa police and state officials, were not immediately answered.
